Met een geschiedenis die teruggaat tot 1908 wordt Ron Abuelo Anejo rum geproduceerd door Varela Hermanos SA in Panama, Midden-Amerika. Don Jose Varela Blanco richtte de eerste suikerfabriek op in de toen gevormde Republiek Panama en is een van de heel weinigen die hun eigen suikerriet verbouwt. Deze jongste specialiteit rijpte 3 jaar op Amerikaans wit eiken. Zeker goed genoeg om puur te drinken, maar ook fantastisch om mee te mixen.

De Appleton plantage bestond al in 1655, toen de Engelsen Jamaica op de Spanjaarden veroverden. Sinds 1749 wordt er ook rum geproduceerd. De Appleton is een Engelse stijl Rum, Jamaica rum is een zeer harde Rum met fruit en hints van rubber. De Rum is Pot Still gestookt en gerijpt in Jack Daniels vaten. Deze Signature is een blend van wel 15 Rums, na het blenden ligt de Rum nog enkele maanden op nieuwe eikenhouten vaten.

Chairman’s Reserve is een blend van rum die 2 maal is gedistilleerd in pot stills en rum die is gedistilleerd in Coffey stills. De 2 stijlen worden gehuwd na de houtrijping, en daarna opnieuw in eikenhouten vaten gevuld voor een laatste finish. Chairman’s Reserve is afkomstig van het eiland St. Lucia en is in 1999 gecreëerd door de toenmalige chairman, Laurie Barnard. Hij wilde een drank maken die de iconische rumstijl van St. Lucia eer aandoet. Chairman’s Reserve is uitgegroeid tot het vlaggenschip van St. Luci, en staat bekend om zijn evenwichtige stijl en volmaakte finesse.

Goslings Black Seal is gedistilleerd in distilleerketels en -kolommen en wordt al sinds de 19e eeuw gemaakt. De naam is afgeleid van de zwarte was die vroeger werd gebruikt om de opvallende fles te dichten.

Ron Barceló Gran Añejo is een premium rum uit de Dominicaanse Republiek, geproduceerd door Ron Barceló. Deze rum is een blend van zorgvuldig geselecteerde Dominicaanse rums, die tot zes jaar rijpen in gebruikte Amerikaanse eikenhouten vaten, oorspronkelijk bestemd voor bourbon. Deze rijping draagt bij aan de ontwikkeling van zijn smaak en karakter. Deze Rum is gebotteld op 37,5% alcohol.

Deze rum is een blend van verschillende distillaten die minimaal vijf jaar hebben gerijpt in eikenhouten vaten. Voor de distillatie maakt de producent gebruik van traditionele houten distilleerketels. Deze installaties zijn uniek en worden al generaties lang gebruikt in Guyana. El Dorado, 5 Y wordt gebotteld met een alcoholpercentage van 40 procent.

Bereits 1703 wurde in der Mount Gay Destillerie auf der Insel Barbados Rum hergestellt. Damit ist sie wahrscheinlich die älteste arbeitende Rum-Brennerei der Welt. Traditionell arbeitet sie noch immer im englischen Stil mit kupfernen Pot Stills, in denen sie zweimal destilliert. Eclipse ist nach der totalen Sonnenfinsternis und dem Erscheinen des Kometen Halley im Jahr 1910 benannt. Die gerösteten Ex-Bourbon-Fässer weisen auch leichte Rauchnoten auf.

Flor de Cana (Blume des Zuckerrohrs) ist der berühmteste Rum Nicaraguas. Die Brennerei wurde 1890 eröffnet und befindet sich am Fuße des Vulkans San Cristobal im Nordwesten. Die Destillerie wurde von der Familie Pellas gegründet. Heute ist die fünfte Generation an der Macht. Ihre Rums werden aus Zuckerrohrmelasse im spanischen Stil hergestellt. Pampero was the first in Venezuela to mature its rum in oak casks, embracing the free spirit of the Llanero—the Venezuelan cowboys who helped liberate Central America from Spanish colonists. Brugal Anejo reift bis zu 5 Jahre lang in Fässern aus amerikanischer Ex-Bourbon-Eiche. Das Ergebnis ist eine saubere, weiche und nicht zu süße Spirituose, die Sie nicht so schnell vergessen werden.

Planteray – Original Dark ist eine Mischung aus Destillaten von Barbados und Jamaika. Nach der Destillation reift der Rum in Eichenfässern, die zuvor für Bourbon verwendet wurden. Der Hersteller verwendet ein Verfahren, das als „Double Ageing“ bekannt ist: eine erste Reifung in der Karibik und eine zweite im kühleren französischen Klima. Der Alkoholgehalt beträgt 40 %.
