Ardmore Single Malt Whisky
Ardmore is located in Kennethmont, just ten east of Speyside. Founded in 1898 and now one of the largest distilleries in Scotland.Most of the production is used for the blends of Teacher's whisky. This brand owes its rich character to the single malt from Ardmore.
The distillery of Ardmore firmly believes in traditional distilling methods. For all Ardmore whiskies, the malted barley is dried over a fire fueled with aromatic peat from the Highlands. This distillery is the only one in the Highlands that has fully peated its core range.
In addition to using washbacks made from Oregon Pine, which impart more flavor, the traditional method of distilling also resonates during maturation. The Traditional Cask is double matured: first in conventional oak barrels, followed by maturation in smaller 'Quarter Casks'.
Finally, Ardmore is bottled at a strength of 46% 'non-chill filtered'. The absence of cold filtration preserves the natural flavors and body of the whisky.
