Kilchoman, 18 years - Single Cask Release 70cl

Kilchoman Distillery released an 18-year-old Single Malt in 2025, drawn from a single cask (Single Cask). The whisky matured for 17 years in an ex-bourbon cask, followed by a 1-year finish in an Oloroso sherry cask. This combination of cask types is common in Scotland and creates a layered maturation, with American oak influence first, followed by that of a former sherry cask. The whisky was bottled on 16 June 2025, with a total of 215 bottles. This is the first and, to date, only 18-year-old Single Cask release from Kilchoman. The limited outturn and long maturation make it a rare release within the distillery’s range. Kilchoman is located on Islay and is one of the few distilleries operating the “grain-to-glass” principle, meaning the entire production process, from growing barley to bottling, takes place on site.
