Big Peat is a brand of Douglas Laing & Company. This independent bottler was founded in 1948 by Fred Douglas Laing. Big Peat is characterized by its strong peat flavor. The whisky is released in small batches of up to 5000 bottles and contains whisky from Islay whisky distilleries among others. Ardbeg, Caol Ilaand evenPort Ellen. Also contains the whisky some other peated whiskies but that remains the secret of Big Peat.
