The literal translation of Terre Antiche is “the ancient land,” and that is precisely what master distiller Roberto della Valle wants to convey to grappa drinkers—the terroir of the grapes and the soil. Terra Antiche Grappa di Barbera is made from the Barbera grape, a popular Italian variety that is normally used to make a robust red wine with intense fruitiness. The grappa was aged in French and Slovenian oak barrels.
