In addition to juniper berries, chili pepper, lemongrass, and kaffir lime leaves are used, giving it a spicy and fresh character. The name refers to the tarsier, a small primate from the Philippines. The alcohol content is 45%. Part of the proceeds supports projects for the conservation of the tarsier and its habitat.
