The Bruichladdich distillery, founded in 1881, is renowned for its focus on provenance and careful cask selection. For maturing their whisky, they use, among others, ex-sherry casks from Spain. This expression is bottled at a robust 50% ABV. Bruichladdich stands out as one of the few distilleries on Islay producing unpeated whisky. Additionally, the use of locally grown barley plays an important role in the character and flavor profile of their whisky.
