The pineapple has been a symbol of hospitality for centuries. It originated on the Caribbean islands, where the original inhabitants placed a pineapple at the front door as a sign of hospitality. Sometimes a pineapple was even placed at the entrance to the village to welcome visitors. In historical woodwork, you still see the pineapple sometimes, for example in columns and doors.
In the Dutch Golden Age, the pineapple was even a popular symbol on doormats, signboards, and antique lamps. In the past, visitors were sometimes offered a piece of pineapple. The modern version? Pinaq: a Dutch delicacy
Did you know that PiñaQ is a Dutch product? Who would have thought that we could create such a tropical, warm, and cheerful drink? PiñaQ is made from the best ingredients from the old and the new world. The base is formed by an ultra-premium vodka from the Netherlands: 3 Kilos Vodka.
This vodka is made in Schiedam from wheat. The grains are fermented and distilled using a centuries-old distillation process in five distillation columns. Exceptionally pure water is then added to the powerful wheat distillate. This water is treated with reverse osmosis, making all impurities disappear like snow under the tropical sun.
In addition to 3 Kilos Vodka, VSOP Cognac from France is also used. Cognac is one of the most prestigious grape distillates in the world and can only be produced in a very small region in France. Depending on which version of Piñaq you drink, more special flavors are added to that vodka and cognac.
For example, real passion fruit is added to the Piñaq Original, while the Piñaq Rosé is made using Rosé wine. And the Piñaq Colada? Of course, it includes delicious Jamaican rum.
Cocktails with Piñaq
Piñaq can be enjoyed perfectly on its own, but of course, Piñaq is also delicious in a summer cocktail. Below we have a few recipes for you.
Roslyn Bellini
- 60ml Piñaq Rosé
- 30ml strawberry puree
- Dash of lime juice
- Ice
Shake the ingredients in a shaker and serve with ice in a wine glass. Top it with rosé champagne. Garnish with strawberries.
Piñaëq Mule
- 60ml Piñaëq Original
- 30ml bourbon
- 15ml lime juice
- Ice
Pour the ingredients into a glass and top off with ginger beer. Garnish with lime and fresh ginger.
Piña Colada
- 60ml white rum
- 60ml Piñaq Colada
- 30ml Piñaq Original
- 30ml pineapple puree
- 30ml coconut milk
- 15ml sugar syrup
- Dash of lime juice
Pour the ingredients with ice into a blender. Garnish with lime and pineapple.
