Cointreau ist eine Marke von Triple Sec (ein Orangenlikör), hergestellt in Saint-Barthélemy-d'Anjou, Frankreich. Es wird als Aperitif und Digestif getrunken und ist Teil von vielen bekannten Cocktails. Der ursprüngliche Name war " Curaçao Blanco Triple Sec ". Die Cointreau Brennerei wurde in 1849 von Adolphe Cointreau, ein Konditor, und sein Bruder Edouard-Jean Cointreau gegründet. Der erste Erfolg gelang mit dem Kirschlikör Guignolet, aber in 1875 kam der große Erfolg als sie süße und bittere Orangenschalen mit purem Alkohol aus Zuckerrüben mischten.

Der Geruch ist voll, warm und komplex, mit Vanille voran; danach wird es würzig süß mit Früchten und Kräutern. Tia Maria ist ein dunkler Likör mit Kaffeebohnen, Jamaikanischer Rum, Vanille und Zucker, der ursprünglich aus Jamaika stammt. Die Zutaten werden so gemischt, dass ein Alkoholniveau von 20% entsteht. Die Geschichte des Ursprungs kommt aus dem Jahr 1700. Ein junges spanisches Mädchen wird gezwungen Jamaika zu entfliehen, zusammen mit einem Diener, der Schmuck und das Rezept für den Familienlikör mitnahm. Zu Ehren ihrer Hilfe nannte das Mädchen den Likör 'Tia Maria' ('tia' ist Spanisch für 'Tante').

Obwohl die Marke Chambord erst 1982 gegründet wurde, wurde dieser Likör bereits im 17. Jahrhundert zu Ehren eines Besuchs von König Ludwig XIV. in Chambord im französischen Loiretal hergestellt. Bei der Herstellung werden ganze Himbeeren und Brombeeren in französischem Cognac destilliert, dazu kommen Honig, Kräuter und Gewürze, Vanille aus Madagaskar und Zitrusfrüchte aus Marokko. Danach werden die restlichen Früchte gepresst, um den natürlichen Zucker und den Saft zu gewinnen.
