Fuji Gotemba distillery lies in the city of Gotemba at the foot of Mount Fuji, which also serves as the main water source for the distillery. The location of the distillery was selected because the climate is very similar to that of Scotland—it is much cooler and less humid than other areas of Japan. The Kirin Fuji Sanroku is a blended whisky consisting of medium and heavy grain whisky, as well as an amount of peated malt whisky. It matured in ex-bourbon barrels. Now officially discontinued.
