Benriach, 10 years - The Smoky Ten 70cl

Benriach, founded in 1898, is a Speyside distillery that uses both peated and unpeated malt. In the 1970s, Benriach was already experimenting with peat, which was unusual for the region and eventually led to expressions like The Smoky Ten. This whisky matures for ten years in bourbon, sherry, and virgin oak casks. The combination creates a balance of sweet and fruity notes with smoky influences. The peat used comes from heather-rich soil in Speyside, resulting in a smoke profile distinct from the well-known Islay peat.
