818 Tequila is the brand of Kendall Jenner, who became known through the Kardashians.
818 Tequila
The journey of 818 tequila begins with the work of skilled jimadores, agave farmers from the Tequila region. They identify agaves in the Los Valles region of Tequila and find the optimal conditions for 818 by waiting at least 7 years until the agaves have reached their maximum ripeness.
They then cook their carefully selected agaves for more than 30 hours. Large stone Tahonas are then used to extract and collect the juice by crushing the cooked agaves, a technique that has existed for centuries.
They then crush the cooked agaves with motorized stone Tahona pits - each wheel weighs 800 kilograms, providing the best juice extraction and capture. This technique has been used for centuries in tequila production and is the most traditional method.
The extracted juice, called 'mosto', is fermented in unique wooden and stainless steel tanks for about 48 hours, using leftover agave fibers from our tahonas, inoculated with native yeast for a deeper aromatic expression.
818 tequila is then distilled in hand-built copper alembic pot stills of the highest quality. We distill our tequila twice: first to 24% alcohol by volume and then to 48% alcohol by volume, using precise distillations for maximum smoothness of 818 tequila.
After distillation, 818 tequila seeks the barrels - the Reposado and Añejo tequilas are aged in both American and French oak at still strength. The 818 team skillfully blends the tequilas for the iconic 818 flavor: smooth, versatile, and drinkable.
