Ciroc is a revolutionary vodka made from grapes. That is exceptional and brilliant at the same time, because usually wheat, rye, or barley is used. That doesn't mean Ciroc tastes like grapes. No, Ciroc is a complex vodka with subtle citrus influences, which for example works great in a Martini or other classic cocktails. There are many different flavors, from Apple to Watermelon and Pineapple. At Tasting Collection we have an extensive range of Ciroc at affordable prices. Order your bottle quickly now!
France is world-famous for spirits such as Cognac and Armagnac, drinks that are based on grapes. It is actually no surprise that the first vodka made from grapes comes from that country. Ciroc is the brainchild of Jean-Sebastian Robicquet. He grew up in the Cognac region and played in vineyards. At an early age, he picked grapes himself. His ancestors were pioneers in the world of cognac. Grapes are indeed in his blood.
After a career in sales and marketing where he flew around the world, Jean-Sebastian longed to return to his birthplace. He wanted to create something himself and no longer sell someone else's products. Cognac was of course the obvious choice. But this was 1999 and cognac was going through a crisis at that time. And so he came up with the brilliant idea to make vodka from grapes.
Some of the grapes for Ciroc grow at high altitudes (more than 300 meters). This fact served as inspiration for the name, which is a combination of two French words. Cime means 'top' and Roche means 'stone'. The latter refers to the fresh, crisp taste of the vodka.
After picking, the grapes undergo a cold maceration process. This ensures a concentration of flavor, but also prevents the need for sulfites. The wine is then transported to the distillery of Jean-Sebastian in Cognac. There it is distilled twice in a column 15 meters high. This distillate is then blended with neutral alcohol (also made from grapes). It is then distilled again in copper pots.
This ‘Bad Boy for Life’ took the world by storm with his raps, but became incredibly rich when he delved into vodka: his wealth is estimated at 825 million dollars. When Sean Combs, better known by his stage name P. Diddy, got involved with Ciroc in 2007, the French vodka brand sold only 70,000 cases per year. By 2011, that number had already risen to 1.4 million! Nowadays, Combs handles the entire marketing of Ciroc and receives a large share of the profits each year. If Ciroc is ever sold, it will also yield a nice sum for Combs.
