SirDavis is an American whiskey that originated from the collaboration of Beyoncé Knowles-Carter and Moët Hennessy. Beyoncé is much more than a singer, she is a captivating artist, a businesswoman, an activist and sometimes a role model, who redefines the boundaries of music, fashion, and philanthropy.
She discovered that her father's great-grandfather, Davis Hogue, was a successful moonshiner during Prohibition in the southern United States and often hid his bottles in the hollow knots of cedar trees on his farm.
It didn't take long for her to understand why her own passion for whiskey was so deeply rooted. Her affinity for whiskey was destined, and thus SirDavis was born.
Unlike other American whiskeys, this blend is remarkable for its composition of 51% rye and 49% malted barley, with no corn. After distillation, the whiskey is matured in Texas in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, resulting in a harmonious blend of spices and fruit.
SirDavis has already won multiple prestigious awards, including a gold medal (95 points) at the New York International Spirits Competition 2023 and a platinum award at the SIP Awards 2023.
The flavor is described as medium-bodied with prominent notes of fruit and spices, which one can expect from whiskeys aged in sherry casks. The finish is long and rich in tannins, comparable to a dry, full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon.
SirDavis is manufactured without additives or colorants.
Fun fact: Beyoncé was actively involved in the design of the bottle. It features an elongated ribbed glass and a bronze horse medallion, a nod to strength, respect, and her Texan roots.
At SirDavis, they have an unconventional approach when it comes to whisky traditions. The spelling of SirDavis Whisky reflects the influences from both the Japanese and Scottish whisky cultures, both traditionally leaving out the 'e' in 'whisky'.
SirDavis plans to launch new whiskies and age statements in the future.
