Charles Tanqueray was a young British distiller who founded his own brand of gin in London in 1830 at the age of 20. He was known for his boldness and creativity, and his gin soon became famous for its bright flavor with four classic botanicals: juniper, coriander, angelica and licorice. During his travels through France, Charles became inspired by the rich flavors and aromas of the country.
