According to the Ménard family their company was founded in 1815. While that’s an impressive feat, there is evidence that the family was involved in viticulture and distillation 150 years earlier. Either way, the long history of this family is remarkable. They only started selling cognac under their own label after World War II, but they also still provide eau de vie to Rémy Martin and Martell. Ménard Selection Des Domaines is from the Grande Champagne — the foremost region in the French Cognac district. This is the perfect post-dinner treat, but also lends itself well to a cognac cocktail.
