By delving into archives and doing academic-level research, the Lost Distillery Company recreates whisky from lost Scottish distilleries. One such distillery is Gerston, which was founded in 1795 by Francis Swanson on the family farm. Gerston existed for over eighty years and represents one of the early success stories of the Scotch whisky industry. Its whisky was enjoyed as far away as Brazil and India. By blending different malt whiskies, the Lost Distillery Company has tried to honor the memory of Gerston distillery.
