The story behind Eristoff
Eristoff has existed for over 200 years. The original recipe has even been made since 1806, originally for Prince Nikolai Alexandrovich Eristoff. A family name can still do a lot for someone's prestige, but in that era, a person's family name played an even more important role than nowadays. That is why the Eristoff family is said to have invested so much time and money in perfecting their recipe, which is still secret. This recipe has been passed down from generation to generation within the family, who had to flee across Europe due to the Russian revolution. Production was eventually restarted in Milan. A howling wolf
The logo of Eristoff Vodka is a wolf howling at the moon, which is a reference to Virshan, the Persian name for Georgia. That name translates to 'The Land of the Wolf'. On the bottle of Eristoff, there is an embossing of the royal crown and at the bottom of the bottle it still says 'Original recipe from Prince Eristoff in 1806', but in the Russian Cyrillic alphabet.
The Eristoff family has no more descendants. The last members of this illustrious family were Prince Nicolai Alexandrovich Eristoff, who died in Milan in 1970, and his sister Olga, who died in 1991. Neither of them had children.
