Rum has been made for generation in the Philippines, although very little was exported. Don Papa Rum is named after Dionisio Magbuelas, a hero of the Philippine revolution who is better known as ‘Papa Isio’. The rum is made with molasses from sugar cane that was grown on the Philippine Negros Island. It aged for 10 years in re-charred oak barrels.
