De Ole Smoky – Original is geproduceerd in Tennessee volgens een honderd jaar oud recept. Het recept voor deze Corn Whiskey stamt uit de tijd dat het nog verboden was eigen drank te stoken. Dit gebeurde destijds in het diepste geheim bij maanlicht (Moonshine). De Ole Smoky – Original komt in de typische Moonshine pot, waarmee de Ole Smoky Distillery wilt verwijzen naar de jaren ’20 van de totale drooglegging in Amerika. Toen bottelde men de spirit in potten om zo de douane te kunnen omzeilen.
