Er wird ausschließlich aus der Ovale di Sorrento hergestellt, einer Zitrone mit P.G.I.-Zertifizierung (geschützte geografische Angabe). Ihre Schale ist reich an ätherischen Ölen, die dem Endprodukt Körper und Geschmack verleihen. Das Originalrezept wurde Anfang des 20.
