Taiwan is niet direct het meest voor de hand liggende whiskyland. De afgelopen jaren zijn er desalniettemin een aantal Taiwanese whisky’s op de markt gebracht, die bovendien vaak goed werden ontvangen. Eén van de Taiwanese distilleerderijen is Nantou. Het warme klimaat in Taiwan draagt bij aan een ander, sneller rijpingsproces. Door de hitte is de interactie met de eikenhouten vaten een stuk hoger dan in koudere gebieden zoals Schotland. Yushan Signature is een mooi voorbeeld van waar Nantou tot in staat is. Laat je verassen.
