In een bar in Manhattan bedachten 2 Schotten het concept van een vodka die naar hun mening alleen kon alleen worden gemaakt met de unieke vaardigheden van Schotse distillateurs en het gebruik van alleen de Schotse gemoute gerst en Schots bergwater. Geen geschikte methode van distillatie bestond hiervoor en een geheel nieuwe procedure moest worden uitgevonden, waarbij een 5-voudige micro-distillatie techniek moest worden ontwikkeld. Door diverse fijne grondstoffen van de allerhoogste kwaliteit te gebruiken en op 1 vat te lageren ontstaat een uniek single malt distillaat van hoge kwaliteit.
