Togouchi - Rum Cask Finish 70cl

This Japanese blend is made from grain and malt whiskies, which are first aged in traditional oak casks. It then undergoes an additional maturation period in casks that previously held rum. The use of rum casks allows the whisky to take on additional influences from the wood and the liquid that was previously stored in the barrel. This often results in notes of sugar cane and light vanilla. For maturation, Togouchi uses, among other locations, a former railway tunnel in the Hiroshima region. This tunnel maintains a constant temperature and high humidity, allowing the whisky to mature slowly and steadily, without major climatic fluctuations.
