Togouchi - Rum Cask Finish 70cl

Deze Japanse blend bestaat uit graan- en moutwhisky’s, die eerst rijpen in traditionele eikenhouten vaten. Daarna volgt een extra rijpingsfase in vaten die eerder rum hebben bevat. Het gebruik van rumvaten zorgt ervoor dat de whisky extra invloeden uit het hout en de eerdere inhoud van het vat opneemt. Dat komt vaak terug in aroma’s die doen denken aan suikerriet en lichte vanille, naast de graanbasis van de blend. Voor de rijping gebruikt Togouchi onder andere een voormalige spoorwegtunnel in de regio Hiroshima. Deze tunnel heeft een constante temperatuur en hoge luchtvochtigheid. Daardoor verloopt de rijping langzaam en stabiel, zonder grote schommelingen in het klimaat.
