Het bedrijf St-Germain is opgericht in 2007 door Robert Cooper, die in 2016 op 39-jarige leeftijd overleed; Het merk St-Germain is eigendom van Bacardi. Geprezen door The New York Times als "bijna zelfstandig de zieltogende categorie ‘likeur’" te hebben versterkt, won deze likeur de Grand Gold Medal bij de Monde Selection in 2007, 2008, 2009 en 2010 en de Chairman Award in de categorie Likeur.
