Dalmore - The Quartet 70cl

Dalmore The Quartet is een Schotse single malt whisky uit de Highlands. Deze uitgave maakte deel uit van de travel retail-serie van The Dalmore en dankt zijn naam aan de vier verschillende vattypen die worden gebruikt tijdens de rijping en afwerking. Na een eerste rijping in Amerikaanse ex-bourbonvaten wordt de whisky verdeeld over first-fill bourbonvaten, Apostoles-sherryvaten, 30 jaar oude Matusalem-sherryvaten en Cabernet Sauvignon-wijnvaten. Daarna worden de verschillende delen opnieuw samengebracht. Met The Quartet laat The Dalmore zien hoe verschillende vatsoorten kunnen worden gecombineerd binnen één whisky. De release vormt samen met The Trio en The Quintet een serie die is geïnspireerd op muzikale composities, waarbij het aantal gebruikte vattypen centraal staat. The Dalmore produceert whisky sinds 1839 in Alness, aan de noordelijke Highland-kust van Schotland. De distilleerderij staat bekend om haar focus op vatrijping, waarbij regelmatig gebruik wordt gemaakt van sherryvaten afkomstig van de Spaanse wijnproducent González Byass.
