Het is dan wel niet een van hun bestverkochte whisky’s, maar The Glenlivet 18 Y haalde wel enorm veel prijzen binnen. Onder andere bij de International Wine and Spirits Competition werden enkele gouden medailles gewonnen. Meesterdistillateur Alan Winchester heeft verschillende soorten vaten gebruikt voor The Glenlivet 18 Y, onder andere van first- en second-fill Amerikaans eikenhout én voormalige sherryvaten.
