Arran Port Finish

No legal whisky had been made on the island of Arran for more than 100 years, when the new Arran distillery opened its doors near Lochranza in 1996. They make a soft, fruity whisky. Certainly not a typical sturdy island whisky. In addition to bourbon and sherry barrel maturation, on a small scale they also use other barrels with which they finish whisky. This Port finish is a wonderful example of this. A finish of more than 1 year on Tawny casks. Spicy, robust and fruity.
